Sometimes it just doesn't work at a certain school, leading the player to take his talents elsewhere.

The most notable figure to do so is USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who transferred from the University of Oklahoma and won the 2022 Heisman Trophy.

ESPN listed the top newcomers to join a new team next season, and linebacker Ernest Hausmann, the Michigan Wolverines transfer from the University of Nebraska, made the list.

Michigan has captured the Big Ten championship the past two seasons and could once again in 2023 with the addition of Hausmann.

"Hausmann started seven games as a true freshman at Nebraska, recording 54 tackles with a sack and a fumble recovery," the article said.

"He joins a linebacker group led by top tackler Junior Colson and talented rusher Jaylen Harrell but still wants more reliable options. Hausmann fills a clear need for Michigan in 2023."
