Prayers are pouring in for the family of a former WWE star who died at 54 years old. Darren Droznov, a former wrestler and NFL player, passed away in New Jersey.
"Darren Drozdov, a former professional football player whose later career in pro wrestling was cut short after an accident in the ring that paralyzed him, died on Friday in Pomona, N.J. He was 54," the New York Times reported.
"His death, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, was confirmed by his sister, Rommi Drozdov, and by his agent and longtime friend, Cliff Stein. No cause was given."
Prayers are pouring in for the friends and family members of the former WWE star. "The Maryland football family mourns the passing of alum Darren Drozdov," mryland football tweeted.
"Very sad news about Darren Drozdov. He endured so much and always seemed to have a smile on his face no matter what. My heart goes out to his family and friends during this difficult time," one fan added.
"How many WWE Superstars are going to die before the age of 60 before someone holds them accountable? They've made billions off the broken bodies of thousands," one fan added.
"Such a wonderful man. We wrestled each other, fought each other in Brawl for All, hunted together, talked tons and tons of football and laughed together every time we met.
You made me want to be better the way you handled adversity. You will always be a brother. RIP legend," one fan wrote. Our thoughts are with his friends and family members on Sunday evening.
