Tom Brady announced at the start of February that he's retiring from the NFL "for good." And yet, that won't stop people from speculating about his future on the gridiron.

On Thursday morning, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk was thinking out loud about a potential scenario where the 49ers express interest in Brady.

"Now, with Jimmy Garoppolo finally moving on and real questions about Lance and Purdy, why shouldn’t the 49ers make a move for Brady?

Their championship window remains open, even if they’ve been unable to fly through it," Florio wrote.

"Brady could be the missing piece to the first San Francisco Super Bowl victory in 29 years — since the 29th Super Bowl."

Brady's contract with the Buccaneers will officially expire next month. That would give him the freedom to speak with any team about a potential contract.

Although this is merely speculation, it sounds like the NFL world is tired of hearing about Brady's connection to the 49ers. "This narrative is exhausting," one fan said.

Another fan wrote, "A fun subplot of the offseason: watching lazy aggregations talk about Brady unretiring whenever they need content."

"Doesn't matter," a third fan added. "He'll just get hurt like every QB there." Make no mistake about it, Brady would have an elite supporting cast in San Francisco.

Nonetheless, it seems like Brady is finally ready to say goodbye to the game he has dominated for two decades.
