Look: The Best 'Body Paint' Photos Of Olympic Swimmer

In 2012, former Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin was featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She was able to participate in the famous "Body Paint" series.

As you'd expect, it took Coughlin some time to adjust to this unique process.

"The first half hour was kinda strange. And then, after a half hour, you kinda forget that you're naked because you're completely covered," Coughlin said.

Coughlin ultimately had a blue swimsuit painted on her. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at Coughlin's body paint photoshoot:

From 2004-2012, Coughlin won a total of 12 Olympic medals. Unsurprisingly, she was named the American Swimmer of the Year three times during her competitive career.

Coughlin's greatest achievement might just be the fact that she was the first woman to ever complete the 100-meter backstroke in less than one minute.
