According to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer, the Giants are expected to bring in Jeff Nixon as their running backs coach.

Nixon held the same position with the Panthers before being elevated to an assistant head coach in 2022.

Nixon was praised for his ability to adapt last season after the Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey.

Both D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard emerged as solid backs under Nixon and should be set up to succeed under Frank Reich and Thomas Brown's new offense in Carolina.

Nixon has experience with one of the most dynamic running backs in the league in McCaffrey, and he may be able to work with another in Saquon Barkley - as long as everything works out with Barkley's contract situation.

The Giants were able to surprise a lot of people last season, thanks in no small part to a resurgence from Barkley.

Fully healthy, Barkley was able to re-establish himself as one of the NFL's best running backs.
