The NCAA made an example of the Miami Hurricanes this year, issuing a series of punishments in a ruling on NIL infractions committed by the school.

The punishments stem from a Miami Hurricanes booster named John Ruiz having the famous Cavinder twins over to his home for a dinner. Ruiz even tweeted about the dinner later on.

An NCAA investigation ensued and the college sports governing body dished out a few punishments to the Miami women's basketball program, including a three-game suspension of their head coach.

Thankfully, there was no NCAA Tournament ban, but they're now on probation.

Sports fans aren't a fan of the NCAA coming down on Miami at all in this case. Many believe that it's a case of the NCAA falling back into its old ways of punishing schools for the lightest of infractions,

while others find it in bad taste that the NCAA would do this to a women's basketball program on the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

While Miami's head coach has already served her suspension, it's very possible that the school will get the lawyers involved over the other punishments that they're going to be dealing with for a while.

As for the Cavinder twins and John Ruiz, neither were sanctioned by the NCAA or the University of Miami.

Though judging by Ruiz's recent tweets, the lawyers certainly would have been called if the NCAA had tried to sanction him.
