After the game, legendary Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo could not hold back his emotions as he exited the court.

Much of the basketball world also took note of the powerful scene in East Lansing. "The power of sport to help heal a hurting community cannot be overstated," said the NCAA's Meghan Durham.

"I may get mad at Izzo sometimes with roster related things, but man if this dude isn’t one of the best," added a Spartans fan.

"You can tell how much he cares about the university, especially after this past week. He shoulders a lot, and you have to love him for that."

"If Michigan State ever needed & deserved a win for things so much bigger than basketball, it was last night," said another MSU fan.

"Congrats Spartans - I continue to pray for healing for the victims, their families, and everyone associated to MSU - students, faculty, alumni, parents, & fans."

Obviously, one basketball win can not erase the pain of what happened last week. Still, it was nice to see the team, the school and its fans get a much-needed escape on Tuesday.
