Dog Movies On Netflix 2023 – There is nothing quite like a dog’s affection. They’re devoted, lively, and friendly, and once paired with a human companion, they develop an unbreakable relationship. It may be both exciting and heartbreaking to see that connection play out on film. There’s a movie for everyone, whether you want a family-friendly comedy, an animated rendition of a classic work, or just to observe some really good puppies interact with their human co-stars.

Benji
In this 2018 remake, the classic narrative of Benji, an orphaned dog, gets a modern makeover. Benji, directed by Brandon Camp (his father directed the 1974 original), stars Gabriel Bateman and Darby Camp as Carter and Frankie Hughes. The Hughes siblings become great friends with Benji (a rescued shelter dog), who comes to their aid when they are in danger. This is a family-friendly video, but be warned: after seeing this adorable pooch on screen, you might want your own life-saving mutt at home!
Rescued by Ruby
A border collie who is hyperactive and a state trooper who has been repeatedly rejected by the K-9 unit are a match made in canine heaven. Ruby came to their aid. Daniel O’Neil (Grant Gustin) must qualify for the K-9 unit before turning 30 — and it doesn’t help that the department doesn’t have any cash for extra German shepherds. Ruby, the title character, has been adopted and returned to the shelter seven times. She may not appear to be the ideal candidate for the position, but the two must find a way to collaborate so that Daniel can pass the K-9 exam on time. This touching film, starring Scott Wolf, is based on a true tale.
Vicky and Her Mystery
There’s something unique about a child’s attachment with her first dog. Vicky and Her Mystery, a French film about love and sorrow, exemplifies this perfectly. After Victoria’s mother dies, she and her father, Stéphane (Vincent Elbaz), go to the French Alps. They are both dealing with sadness until a neighbour offers Victoria an orphaned pup named Mystére, who turns out to be a wolf cub. Their link helps the young girl recover, but when Victoria is requested to release her companion to the wild, the wound might easily recur.
White Fang
In this computer-animated picture starring a star-studded ensemble, Jack London’s 1906 novel White Fang is brought to life. Nick Offerman, Rashida Jones, and Paul Giamatti play characters from the famous novel. You’ve heard the story: A tiny wolf pup gets separated from his mother, only to be adopted by an Alaska Native American tribe. There, he is given the name White Fang and learned to pull sleds, but he is eventually moved around from owner to owner before forming a real attachment. White Fang, directed by Alexandre Espigares, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018.
A.X.L.
This sci-fi adventure picture demonstrates that a boy’s relationship with his dog is strong, even if it isn’t a real dog. A.X.L. is a robotic dog designed to aid soldiers in the military through the use of artificial intelligence. The trial, however, does not go as planned, and after A.X.L. is turfed, a motorcyclist called Miles Hill (Alex Neustaedter) discovers him hiding in the desert. Their encounter activates the robot’s owner-pairing technology, resulting in an immediate attachment. While safeguarding Miles and his closest friend Sara (played by Becky G), A.X.L. must hide from the business that developed him. While A.X.L. learns to defy his programming, the film attempts to address an age-old question: Can a robotic dog learn new tricks?
Seventeen
A pet’s affection may make a person feel more at home than any actual house. That’s how Héctor (Biel Montoro), the main character of Seventeen, feels. Daniel Sánchez Arévalo’s Spanish comedy-drama premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2019. Héctor runs away from his youth retention centre after meeting and connecting with a puppy named Oveja at an animal rescue centre. His brother, Ismael (Nacho Sánchez), joins him to assist in the hunt and to ensure that the couple does not get into any difficulty.
June & Kopi
This 2021 Indonesian comedy is suitable for the entire family, but be warned: the conclusion is a bit tear-jerker. The basic idea is straightforward: Aya, a graphic artist, stops a stray puppy from being pursued by a gang of children. June is her name, and she brings her home to meet her husband, Ale, and pit dog Kopi. The two canines become good friends, but when Aya gives birth to a daughter named Karin, June becomes an even more vital member of the family. June quickly becomes the baby’s guardian and the protagonist of Aya’s graphic novel, June & Kopi. Karin’s development demonstrates the extent June will go to defend her human. But, like we said, you may want to have the tissues handy.
Dog Gone Trouble
This computer-animated comedy depicts what it’s like to be a spoiled dog on the streets. Trouble (voiced by Sean “Big Sean” Anderson) is a privileged dog with everything he could want — until his elderly owner dies and her niece and nephew throw him out with everything else in the home they think is useless. That is, until they discover that they will only receive their aunt’s money if they bond with Trouble within three days. What follows is a human quest and a significant lesson for Trouble. He must figure out how to live without his butler and legendary animal trainer Cesar Millan (who is voiced by himself!). Pamela Adlon and Lucy Hale also appear in the film, as does famed animal champion Betty White – Dog Gone Trouble was White’s final feature before her death at the age of 99.
Pets United
What do you get when you throw together a stray dog and a spoiled pet cat? A wild comedy adventure called Pets United. The computer-animated film is a sequel to the 2010 film Animals United, but this one puts the focus solely on house pets. Roger (voiced by Patrick Roche) and Belle (Natalie Dormer) have to band together in order to save their home city from robots. Trust us: Your kids will love it.
